There is a particular kind of craftsmanship in making everything appear effortless.
At XO Cape Arnna, the arrival of spring brings with it a quieter kind of activity. Across the gardens, kitchens and guest rooms, teams begin shaping the details that will eventually define the feel of summer by Çalış Bay.
By the time the soft light of March settles over the coastline, the preparations are already in motion. The shore may still appear calm, but inside the hotel, the careful work of the season has begun.
Where the Gardens Meet the Sea
In the gardens, the day begins shortly after sunrise. Along the stone pathways that follow the shoreline, plants are trimmed, new plantings are introduced, and the green structure of the grounds is gently reshaped.
The planting reflects the character of the Mediterranean landscape: wind-resistant oleanders, clusters of lavender that release their scent in the summer heat, rosemary thriving in the sun, and low palms that tolerate the salt carried in from the sea.
To a guest, the gardens simply appear calm and natural. Yet every view has been considered. Where a terrace catches the sunset, how a path opens towards the water, where shade should fall during the warmest hours of the afternoon — these are the details quietly refined at this time of year.
In the Kitchens
Another kind of preparation unfolds behind the doors of XO Gastro.
Before the season begins, the culinary team revisits the menu plate by plate. Recipes are tested again, presentations adjusted and ingredients balanced until each dish reaches its most refined form.
By the time evening service returns, these early rehearsals are no longer visible; only the calm confidence of a kitchen that knows exactly what it is doing.
Two Atmospheres, One Standard
Elsewhere in the hotel, housekeeping teams move carefully through the rooms. Textiles are renewed, terraces prepared and interiors checked with quiet precision.
Here the preparations follow two distinct moods. On the Resort side, rooms are readied for the lively rhythm of family holidays. Across the property, the Club area is prepared for a calmer setting reserved for adults.
When guests arrive on 15 April, all of this work fades quietly into the background. Sunbeds return to the shore, tables are set for the evening service, and the gardens carry the first vivid green of the season.
At XO Cape Arnna, summer begins in that moment.
